...it's a goodie fer sure,, but when you add up what they went thru to make the Sorcerer,, a bitchin' Tange Dream Soundtrack,, Motherfricking Roy!,, and the emotional state that it climbs to by the time he collapses at the end... the Friedkin version is just more visceral and heavy I think... I mean,, that moment where the truck stalls out, his partner dies and he's got the white dust all over his face and he starts hearing voices after having to kill those bandits and he pulls into those white mountains that look like stalagmites.... his state of mind in that scene is so fucking heavy... that IS what it's like to lose all sanity... I don't even think when the sub hits the bottom of the ocean in Das Boot is a scene so heavy... and the fact that Friedkin says it's the only film of his he can actually watch//while it is his biggest failure (one of the largest amounts any movie has ever lost I believe) is just the shit that makes a frickin' legend y'know.....
